Enjoy it all, the day goes by so quickly.
A seriously cool, colourful & relaxed London rooftop wedding with bridesmaids in orange & a bride with pink, coral hair. Jacqui & Charlie planned a beautiful day celebrating with family & friends at the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch with pink & orange highlights and the prettiest wedding cake from Fondant Fox. They were lucky with a gorgeous sunny summer afternoon, drinks on the terrace & dancing amidst the rock’n’roll neon signs from Gods Own Junkyard in Walthamstow.
Here are a few of my favourite shots from this modern London city wedding along with some words from Jacqui & Charlie.
Our main goal for the wedding was to throw a great party for all our family and friends.
Hackney Town Hall
As we’re both non religious we chose a civil ceremony at hackney town hall. We have lived in hackney for over ten years so & the town hall is such an iconic part of hackney, it felt like the right choice.
Jacqui is a photo editor in publishing so always had a strong idea of what she wanted. We had come across Miss Gen’s work numerous times on Instagram and felt it really suited our idea and style of wedding. It was really easy working with her, Gen seemed to really understand our vision and was excited to work with us. We loved the photos in front of the turquoise door near broadway market, it looked awesome with Jacqui’s hair.
Charlie – I went for a black suit with a micro dot pattern by Joshua Kane, he’s an amazing tailor!
The overall vibe of the day was very relaxed. The Ace Hotel was beautifully set up with a summer/LA/Rock n Roll vibe. We had lots of pink and orange foil balloons in the room where we had our wedding breakfast and the party room was filled with amazing neon artworks by Chris Bracey from Gods Own Junkyard.
Make it wit chu by Queens of the Stone Age was our first dance song. Jacqui walked down the aisle to her favourite Cat Power song – The Greatest. We walked out of the ceremony together to Baby I Love You by The Ramones.
Jacqui – I always new I didn’t really want a ‘wedding dress’ so found my dream Givenchy gown, as a compromise for my family I agreed to wear white for the day and change to my dream dress at night.
