After shooting their Victorian Gentlemen inspired engagement session in Wapping, I know this wedding would be something special. Liam & Ollie created a unique & joy filled wedding day with a non-traditional wedding celebration at One Friendly Place. They were married at an East London Warehouse by Katya Zamolodchikova – a drag queen from Ru Paul’s drag race. They wore bespoke tweed suits by Tweed Addict with shoes from Zara & antique pocket watches. These two stylish fellas created a vintage, eclectic style for their wedding hiding action figures in the indoor forest and toy dinosaurs & vintage children’s books as place names.
Our home is our little version of the horniman museum in Forest hill, full of taxidermy, saved “junk” from boot fairs and nicknacks that have special meaning to us. It felt right that we should bring that to our wedding.
They hired vintage reclaimed tables & chairs and roped in friends to help create an indoor forest & bountiful floral centrepieces on the tables. Liam & Ollie also made the bandana bunting decorating the first floor and all of the picnic food that the guests shared including sausage rolls, quiche & homemade butter. A seriously awesome party, here are some words of wisdom from Liam & Ollie:
Remember that it’s very rare you and your guests celebrate a day of love. Make your guests feel like they are part of your day, we wanted everyone to feel like they had been thought about as an individual. Yes the day is about you but they are there for you and love them for that. Grooms – get involved. Don’t sit back and let some else do it. The day should be a reflection of your day, things you hold special, moments that after the day has gone you remember with the biggest smile on your face. Especially as you look at that band on your fourth finger on your left hand.
