Intimate wedding at Islington Town Hall & Sager & Wilde in London – Sian & Greg

After postponing 3 times, Sian & Greg were finally able to get married last week. They were originally planning to elope in New York but moved their laid back, chic city wedding to London, marrying in the Council Chamber at Islington Town Hall. We went for a quick stroll around Islington for some relaxed couples photos then boarded an old red London bus to their reception dinner at Sager & Wilde in Bethnal Green. Sian looked stunning in bridal separates (a top & skirt) by Charlie Brear and Greg looked gorgeous in a pink suit by Reiss (with cute green dinosaur cufflinks!).

Intimate wedding at Islington Town Hall – Lucy & Ashley

After 6 postponements Lucy & Ashley finally got married in London on Saturday. They luckily dodged the rain, marrying at the beautiful Islington Town Hall with just their close family members and celebrated at The Cannonbury pub afterwards. Lucy looked stunning in a customised, beaded & feathered dress with a cute denim jacket.

Relaxed, intimate, friends wedding at Islington Town Hall & Rochelle Canteen – Sophie & Jesse

With both of their families overseas, Sophie & Jesse planned an intimate, relaxed wedding celebrating with their friends in London. After they were married in the Council Chamber at Islington Town Hall they jumped in a black cab over to Shoreditch for an outdoor feast under the grapevines in the garden of Rochelle Canteen. A true hidden gem in London, in a private walled garden with fantastic food & wine, I’ve photographed quite a few intimate celebrations here & they have all been fabulous.

Sophie looked stunning in a modern ROTATE Birger Christensen dress & Prada headband with a simple green & white bouquet by Grace & Thorn. We strolled through Islington for some relaxed couples photos, luckily dodging the rain & spotting some beautiful flowering wisteria on the pretty London terraces.

Islington Town Hall Elopement – Jayne & Emmanuel

Another last minute booking, Jayne & Emmanuel decided to elope as soon as the November lockdown was over. They planned an intimate ceremony in the Council Chamber at Islington Town Hall with just their closest family present. After confetti & photos on the steps, we strolled through Islington, taking natural couples photos on the way to their relaxed lunch at Frederick’s on Camden Passage. We were so lucky to get some sunshine on this freezing December day & Jayne looked stunning in a Racil dress with the prettiest long puff sleeves & a gorgeous green & white bouquet by Scarlet & Violet (love those anenomes!).

Intimate low key London wedding at Islington Town Hall & Trullo – Tess & Tommy

The sun came out for Tess & Tommy’s winter wedding in London. A chic, intimate celebration starting with a ceremony in the Council Chamber at Islington Town Hall then a relaxed lunch in the private dining room at Trullo and finishing with champagne & cake at home. It was a lovely, intimate affair with creative friends & family contributing flowers & music and guests walking between venues accompanied by their friendly sproodle puppy. Tess wore a gorgeous boho Temperley gown with white Chanel shoes & an embellished cape. I loved the relaxed vibe of their day, it was such a pleasure to capture this intimate, local London wedding.

Elegant, Cool London Wedding at Islington Town Hall & St John’s Archway – Camille & Benoit

Camille & Benoit’s day started with a first look on the backstreets of Shoreditch. We wandered around the beautiful old London houses (some of my favourite streets!) in the glorious spring sunshine, then jumped in an uber to the Town Hall. After a ride through London on a traditional red bus, they had a relaxed reception at St John’s Tavern in Archway, a lovely space with an outdoor area filled with sunshine. Their guests spent the afternoon finding hidden clues and performing tasks to win prizes in a treasure hunt, a really fun idea for a wedding day. Everyone spoke French all day, so it was different for me not being able to understand what people were saying, but it was so wonderful – you could feel the love & happiness from everyone.

I always love when brides go against tradition & Camille looked amazing in Sézane trousers & a top by Roland Mouret with those epic silver heels.

Modern London Elopement at Islington Town Hall & Shoreditch – Lynn & Gareth

Hailing from different countries & having friends & family far afield, Lynn & Gareth decided to elope in London, where they met & fell in love. They had an intimate ceremony in the Mayor’s Parlour of Islington Town Hall with two best friends as witnesses. It was a heartfelt ceremony with meaningful readings & emotional vows, all shared with parents over facetime. After the ceremony we travelled all over London, taking relaxed couples portraits in all their favourite places. Lynn wore a modern, short wedding dress with yellow heels & Gareth wore a floral bow tie for their Spring elopement. It was a beautiful, intimate celebration on a rainy day in April, they even had an awesome confetti moment on the Town Hall steps with metallic confetti cannons!

London Elopement – Jessica & Lucio

Jessica & Lucio planned an egalitarian, low-key, intimate wedding in just 3 weeks. They had a simple non-traditional ceremony in the council chamber at Islington Town Hall with just 16 guests and without readings or rings. They wanted the day to simply be about bringing together their very closest friends and family to witness the special occasion & celebrate at their local pub.

I loved the chilled vibe of Jess & Lucio’s wedding, especially Jess’ modern ‘Guinevere’ dress by Whistles (great name!), the colourful confetti and that pretty green & white bouquet by Grace & Thorn. Here are a few previews from this relaxed, London elopement at Islington Town Hall.

Intimate Autumn wedding at Islington Town Hall & the Drapers Arms pub in London – Samantha & Davide

Just a week before Christmas, Samantha & Davide were married in an intimate ceremony at Islington Town Hall with a relaxed reception in a pub just a short walk away. Although they now live in the United States, Islington was the neighbourhood they called home together for 5 years so they were excited to be celebrating in an area they know and love.

Being so close to Christmas, they created a festive feasting feel for their pub reception with lush greenery and gold origami crane place cards. Grace & Thorn decorated the tables and mantlepieces with green garlands interwoven with winter fruits. Samantha wore a stunning figure hugging knitted dress with a plunging neckline and exaggerated sleeve with splits to the wrist by Solace London. John & Mary had the most gorgeous intimate wedding on a sunny Friday afternoon in November. An intimate ceremony with close friends in the Mayor’s Parlour at Islington Town Hall, a stroll through the pretty autumnal streets of Islington & Angel, a walk down Regent’s Canal & lunch at the Barge House. Mary made a beautiful pregnant bride, wearing a modern midi skater dress from the high street with John in a traditional kilt.
